Many veterinary clinics will not hesitate to hire a vet tech with tattoos or piercings, provided the modifications are inoffensive and don’t pose a safety risk. There are still a portion of veterinary clinics, however, that will reject individuals for a job based solely on the presence of tattoos or piercings.

Status. Veterinary Student. Dec 22, 2008. #5. No visible tattoos and facial piercings beyond ears and one nose while in the clinic. In class, they don't care. A lot of my class actually had or have gotten tattoos since we've started (I got paws on my foot -- I know, so original).

Well, there is good news for you! According to the U.S. News and World Report, "Employment for veterinarians is expected to grow by 19,700 jobs, or 33 percent, between 2008 and 2018. There were 90,000 veterinarians in 2013, according to industry data—(102,000 in 2014 according to the AVMA Market Research Statistics), and demand for vets is strong."
